High is a short film based on the documentation of the journey of two dutch men taking LSD in the Swiss alps. The experience was meant as a practical elaboration on a hypothetical correspondance between the historical notion and representation of the sublime on one side, and psychedelism on the other ; indeed, both cultures derive from psychological states of confrontation with vertiginious alterities that may bring the wandering mind on the verge of terror and awe. This filmic essay seeks to read each culture through the other.
